The Florida Gators have had a banner day recruiting-wise. After getting good news from five star cornerback Jalen Tabor that he was flipping his commitment from Arizona to Florida, the Gators received more good news in the form of 2015 safety Deontai Williams who announced his commitment during a ceremony at his high school along with two other teammates.
Williams, considered a four star recruit by most recruiting services, is a hard hitting safety who was rumored to have committed a few days ago but hadn’t yet spoken to coach Muschamp, a requirement before the staff accepts any commitment.
Williams is a Jacksonville Trinity Christian teammate of four star recruit Jeffrey Holland, the top linebacker on the Gators board who has Florida as one of his top schools.
In announcing his commitment, Williams did a Gator chomp and said that he “bleeds orange and blue”. He is the Gators first commitment for the 2015 class and is expected to be a strong recruiter much the same way that Quincy Wilson has for this years recruiting class.
